As a Master Braider at Honey Bel Hair, you will be one of the cornerstone stylists of our salon. You will take ownership of a high-volume chair, serving a loyal and growing clientele who trust us for precision parts, pain-free installs, and long-lasting protective styles. We are known across Fort Worth for our craftsmanship — from knotless box braids to stitch braids, boho braids, cornrows, twists, and more. You will not only deliver exceptional services but also help set the standard for quality, mentor junior stylists, and contribute to the culture of excellence that defines our brand. This is a career-defining role for a braider who takes pride in their craft and wants to build something lasting.
Schedule
Monday–Saturday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Full-time stylists typically work 5 days per week with one rotating day off.
Compensation
Commission-based: 50%+ on services plus 100% of tips. Top earners at Honey Bel Hair average $4,000–$7,000+ per month.
What You'll Do
- Perform a full range of braiding services including knotless box braids, stitch braids, boho/goddess braids, cornrows, feed-in braids, twists, locs, and other protective styles to Honey Bel Hair quality standards
- Conduct thorough client consultations to assess hair condition, recommend suitable styles, and set realistic expectations for duration, maintenance, and longevity
- Maintain exceptionally clean parts, consistent tension, and neat finishes on every install — no exceptions
- Mentor junior braiders and apprentices through hands-on guidance, technique demonstrations, and constructive feedback
- Manage your own column efficiently, arriving prepared and keeping clients informed throughout their service
- Maintain accurate client records, service notes, and aftercare instructions in our Booksy booking system
- Stay current with trending braiding techniques, styles, and products through continuing education and self-directed learning
- Uphold salon sanitation and cleanliness standards at your station before, during, and after every appointment
- Represent Honey Bel Hair professionally in all client interactions, both in-salon and on social media
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of professional braiding experience in a salon or independent setting
- Demonstrated mastery of knotless box braids, stitch braids, cornrows, and at least 3 additional braiding techniques (boho, goddess, feed-in, twists, locs, etc.)
- Strong portfolio showcasing clean parts, consistent tension, and a variety of styles on different hair types and lengths
- Excellent customer service, communication, and consultation skills
- Ability to maintain quality and composure during back-to-back appointments and long services
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage your own column with minimal supervision
- Cosmetology or braiding license (or equivalent) as required by Texas state regulations
Nice to Have
- Experience mentoring or training junior stylists
- Strong social media presence showcasing your braiding work
- Experience with Booksy or similar salon booking platforms
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Specialty skills: silk presses, hair treatments, or natural hair care
